Comprehensive learning modules

In trauma care, every second counts. This module teaches a rapid, disciplined approach to identifying and managing life-threatening injuries in patients who have experienced physical force, such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, or penetrating wounds.

Securing a patent airway is the first priority in any resuscitation effort. This module covers the essential skills and tools required to maintain oxygenation and ventilation, ranging from basic manual maneuvers to the use of advanced adjuncts.

This module focuses on the "hidden" killers of trauma. Students learn to identify and provide immediate intervention for injuries to the body’s core, where damage to vital organs and the central nervous system requires rapid, specialized care.

The extremes of age require a specialized approach to trauma care. This module explores how to adapt assessment and treatment strategies for the unique physiological and anatomical needs of the youngest and oldest patients.

In mass-casualty incidents (MCIs) or resource-limited environments, the ability to prioritize patients is a critical life-saving skill. This module teaches the structured systems used to categorize victims based on the severity of their injuries and the likelihood of survival.

The standard course includes basics of hemorrhage control (tourniquets/wound packing). For deeper tactical training, you would look for the PHTLS-TCCC variant, but the core course covers the civilian “XABCDE” algorithm.

Instead of just watching a video, you will work with high-fidelity manikins that provide real-time data on your compression depth and rate. At RED TACT, we simulate real clinical environments to help you practice the stress and teamwork of a real cardiac arrest scenario, rather than just practicing in a quiet classroom.

Unlike many AHA courses, PHTLS certification is valid for 4 years.

The certification is valid for two years. Renewal: Take the 1-day course if your card is still active. Initial: Take the 2-day course if you are a first-timer or your card has expired significantly.

The full PALS Initial Course typically runs for 2 days (approx. 16 hours), while the Update/Renewal course is usually completed in 1 day.

You must complete the AHA Precourse Self-Assessment (online). Most students spend 2–4 hours reviewing the PALS manual and practicing rhythms before showing up to ensure they pass the 70% entry threshold.

RedTACT issues AHA eCards. Once the instructor submits your successful roster, you’ll receive an email to claim your digital card—usually within 24 to 48 hours.

Yes. You must complete the PHTLS Pre-test and bring the answer sheet to class. Reading the 10th Edition manual beforehand is highly recommended as the course is scenario-heavy.

Don’t worry! Our instructors are committed to your success. If you struggle with the skills or the multiple-choice exam, we provide remediation on the same day. You will have the opportunity to review the material and re-test once you feel confident.

It focuses on the “Golden Period” of trauma—treating life-threatening injuries at the scene and during transport. It emphasizes critical thinking in resource-limited environments.

It is a mandatory online exam. You must score at least 70% and present the certificate (printed or digital) to the RedTACT instructor before the class begins. It covers ECG rhythms and pharmacology.

Yes. The course follows a “Practice-While-Watching” (PWW) format. You will be on the floor practicing compressions, breaths, and using an AED trainer while the video guides you.
